How it all started...
Since 1958 our Brooklyn center has been impacting communities and transforming lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a little like a family, a little like a college, and a little like a boot camp. Last year our original Brooklyn facility re-opened after thorough renovation and replacement of all the furniture. We are now a state-of-the-art building, modern and attractive, with 58 beds that can serve and house at any one time up to 34 students, 8 re- graduates, and provide housing for 10 staff members and interns. Our students separate themselves from the environment and relationships that have contributed to their life-controlling problems. They come into a controlled environment which helps them to avoid the substances and behaviors that have contributed to their self-destruction. We hope to serve 150 male students, ages 17 to 65, in a residential setting for a one-year period starting September 1, 2025. We expect that 80% of the students will finish Phase One, 85% will finish Phase Two, and 90% will finish Phase 3, and 78 % of graduates will remain sober and substance-free following graduation.
We exist to bring freedom to anyone battling life-controlling issues through the power of Christ. We believe that within a renewed relationship with Christ, ANY life can be set free from and life controlling issue. We’re not here to treat symptoms, we’re here to address a person’s most foundational issues. Treatment is important, transformation is key. While treatment serves its function, it’s in transformation that true freedom from addiction is found. Through a designed discipleship process, individuals learn basic life skills, Biblical principles, spiritual disciplines, and so much more.

Expanding the vision...
Brooklyn Adult & Teen Challenge envisions a future where every man and woman struggling with addiction, life-controlling issues, and hopelessness has access to lasting freedom, restoration, and purpose through the power of Jesus Christ.
Our vision extends beyond recovery alone. We seek to be a beacon of hope in Brooklyn and beyond—transforming lives, strengthening families, and restoring communities. Through comprehensive, faith-based programming, we aim to address not only the symptoms of addiction, but the root causes, equipping individuals with spiritual foundation, life skills, education, and vocational training needed for long-term success.
As we grow, our vision is to expand our reach to serve more individuals, develop stronger aftercare and reentry pathways, and deepen partnerships with churches, businesses, and community leaders. We believe recovery is not the end of the journey—it is the beginning of a new life marked by dignity, responsibility, and service.
Brooklyn Adult & Teen Challenge exists so that hope has an address, freedom has a future, and every transformed life becomes a testimony of God’s redeeming power.

Where we are headed...
Brooklyn Adult & Teen Challenge is entering a season of growth, innovation, and deeper impact. Building on decades of life transformation through Christ-centered recovery, we are committed to expanding our reach while remaining grounded in our mission.
Where we are headed is toward greater capacity—serving more men and women who are searching for freedom from addiction and life-controlling issues. We are strengthening our residential programs, enhancing discipleship, and expanding life-skills, workforce development, and educational opportunities that prepare students for long-term success.
We are also investing in stronger aftercare and community reintegration, ensuring graduates are supported as they step into healthy relationships, employment, and church involvement. Through strategic partnerships with churches, employers, and community organizations, we aim to create clear pathways from recovery to purpose.
Most importantly, we are committed to deepening the spiritual foundation of everything we do. As we move forward, we will continue to proclaim that true transformation is possible through Jesus Christ—bringing hope to the hopeless and restoration to the broken.
Brooklyn Adult & Teen Challenge is headed toward a future where lives are restored, families are reunited, and communities are renewed—because hope truly has an address.
